A fire was ebbing to a soft glow in the fireplace. The tree was lit and soft Christmas music soothed me. Everyone else in the house was in bed. I ruminated on the meaning of Christmas. This is a personal holiday tradition for 25+ years. In the quiet beauty of the soft glow of Christmas lights in darkness with hot chocolate I find my best meditations on the true meaning of Christmas.The Bible says a lot about quietness and a still heart before God. Perhaps I need to do this more than one night a year!
