A day to celebrate and remember! The angels announce in Luke 2:10 (NIV)"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people."
God instructs his people to many annual days of celebration in the Old Testament. The primary purpose is to remember. Remember God's goodness. Remember His provision. Remember a miracle. And having a party with a giving spirit is part of all that!
Check out Nehemiah 8:10 (NIV)
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
Today I want to remember God's goodness and provision. And I want to celebrate with my family.
