It came upon the midnight clear,That glorious song of old,From angels bending near the earth,To touch their harps of gold:"Peace on the earth, goodwill to menFrom heavens all gracious King!"The world in solemn stillness layTo hear the angels sing.
Kutless sings today about the angel visit proclaiming the glorious coming of the Christ child.
I am looking forward to our Christmas Eve candlelight service. It is always a highlight to sing softly in a darkened chapel dwelling on the birth of God who became man in the form of a baby. It is a peaceful moment, echoing the angel's message - Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men.
Luke 2: 13-14 (NIV)
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."
Philippians 4: 6-7 (NIV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Lord, oh Prince of Peace; Grant me peace this day. I will bring you all that is on my heart. Quiet me with gentleness and mercy. Thank you for the promise of peace. Amen.
